The Funk Disciples are a funky yet jazzy brass band in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. They play all styles of funk music with a jazzy twist. With original compositions, they also bring a touch of Ethio-Funk. The band consists of some of the finest musicians: big names like Henok Mehari as well as rising stars like Letarik Tilahun, Abenezer and the dynamic duo Mulugeta & Miliyon holding down the rhythm, with seasoned vets Yisehak Dawit and Teddy Alula and the Sudanese great, Nurelislam Mohamed giving you the brass with class. Led by saxophonist Jonovan Cooper, this band hopes to be the new standard big band as they explore new funky, brassy music.
